It’s a day to celebrate! We have another Indian face in WWE & its a women. From Haryana, Powerlifter and South Asian Games gold medalist Kavita Devi is the first Indian woman to participate in the World Wrestling Entertainment.
Devi has been selected to compete in the Mae Young Classic, which is the first-ever WWE tournament for women,
Mae Young Classic is the first ever WWE tournament for women and Kavita Devi has been elected to compete in this competition. In the first round of “Me Young Classic,” Devi fought against “Dakota kai” of New Zealand. The shocking part is that “Kavita Devi” choose to fight wearing”Salwar kameez” that amazed everyone.
Her fans are crazy impressed, and it’s not only about her talent, skills but about the way she’s choosing to smash glass ceilings that stand in her way.
Kavita Devi participated in the Tournament WWE Dubai tryout in April 2017, at that time she was noticed by the talent scouts.
Canyon Ceman, The Vice President of WWE’s Talent development, said “ Kavita gave a tough performance at the WWE’s Tournament 2017 Dubai Tryout. She is extremely strong and athletic woman who shows a solid grasp of the Fundamentals of sports entertainment, as well as a passion for improving that, will serve her well in WWE’s upcoming Tournament.
“I am honored to be the first Indian woman to compete in the WWE’s first ever women’s tournament. I hope to use this platform to inspire other Indian women and make India proud,” Kavita Devi said.
