Veteran legendary actor Shashi Kapoor at the age of 79 passed away after prolonged illness at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Mumbai, on Monday evening.
“Mr. Shashi Kapoor expired at 5.20 pm on 4th December at Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai,” confirmed Dr. Ram Narain, executive director of the hospital.
He was born in Calcutta in 1938 and was the the youngest son of Prithviraj Kapoor. His elder brothers were Raj Kapoor and Shammi Kapoor. He was known for his memorable work in the milestone movies like Satyam Shivam Sundaram, Deewar and Kabhie Kabhie.
