Dhoni’s hundred turns Jharkhand towards its victory


A popular name M.S. Dhoni is one where everyone says, “If Dhoni is there not to worry”. As all known Mr. Cool loves to play under pressure and always did miracle whenever the team is in some obsess situation. The same has occurred in Vijay Hazare Trophy match, when Dhoni’s 129 lift Jharkhand towards victory after collapse.

In Vijay Hazare Trophy at The Eden Gardens, a hundred from M.S. Dhoni and 151 runs stand with Shahbaz Nadeem helped Jharkhand to overcome a collapse to beat Chhattisgarh by 78 runs. When Chhattisgarh reduced Jharkhand to 57/6 in 20th over, Dhoni played a fabulous cricket by making 129 in 107 balls. This encourage Jharkhand reach 243/9, a score that had seemed impossible in the when Jharkhand were at 57/6 in just 20th over. His journey from being uneven to the world’s best finisher is far from over but Dhoni is showing the willingness to spirit through it.

Opening blowers shared first 6 wickets, that is Pankaj Rao taken 3/27 and Kant Singh figured 4/33. As usual Dhoni coming at no. 6, with other end Nadeem who scored 53 off 90 balls, play their innings with a stand that lasted 27.4 overs, this helped Jharkhand scored 243 for 9. M.S. Dhoni’s wicket fell off at the last ball of the innings after hitting 6 sixes and 10 fours. Chhattisgarh failed to put on important partnerships before folding for 165 in an innings where only 3 batsmen got finished at 20.  Kant top, scored with 24- to add to a memorable List A debut. From Jharkhand, fast bowlers Varun Aaron (3/26) and Shahbaz Nadeem (3/36) were on top performance with the ball.

Chhattisgarh thought they had MS Dhoni out at first ball, caught at the wicket–slip, wicket-keeper Manoj Singh and medium-pacer Kant Singh going up in uttering.

The Jharkhand captain survived, a lbw appeal to a straighter one from leg spin bowler Shubham Agarwal that hit him on the back foot, a catch fallen by Chhattisgarh captain Kaif when on 95.

It gave Jharkhand to register their first win of the tournament by 78 runs, because Chhattisgarh were never in the search.

The skipper of Chhattisgarh, Mohammad Kaif given a chance to the off-spinner Sahil Gupta in 46th over, Dhoni hitting him across the line in the mid-wicket and long-on region for long sixes and this was followed by two boundaries. The over finished with 23 runs, including one wide.

Kharwar began his last over and Dhoni beaten him beyond the sightscreen for a six. He didn’t take any run in next ball and hit the bowler through midwicket for a four. Dhoni and Shahbaz Nadeem added 151 runs together and lift Jharkhand towards the victory.

Firstly it was looking just impossible to make a good score. A wonderful and important partnership from both M.S. Dhoni and Nadeem gave Jharkhand a chance to celebrate the evening. Also a good boeling from Aaron and Nadeem included more enjoyment to the Jharkhand.
